“I read this book twice. I’m 82 years old and have been reading books for most of those years. I know what good writing is and this is quality writing where the unexpected occurs repeatedly. It is an unusual book, unlike any I’ve read. It is subtle, slipping from one curious event to another and shifting scenes, each unique, each unexpected. The setting is a world apart from our own and nothing in it is as it is in our own. You will not be able to divine what comes next nor the final outcome. At least I was incapable of doing so.
